New UDM - Problem?

Just got a new UDM from autopia.

Having a weird time with the speed dial.

The motor doesn't start untill you turn it to 3! I have done a little video to show, easier then explaining.

Is it supposed to work this way? If you turn up the sound you can hear it clicking for ages before the motor starts.

watched the video, no it's not supposed to do that. That's why there is a warranty

I am sure they will fix you up.

You might want to PM db or call about this problem, it's under warranty. Might works fine all the time.

i am not sure because i have only used a PC, but i wouldn't think thats the way it is meant to work, david B will be on here soon i bet to get things fixed up if its not right.

'That stinks! I guess there are always a few machines that go awry but shouldn\'t the quality control people have caught that before shipping? I am on the fence right now whether to buy the PC or UDM and everytime I think I made my decision I hear something that makes me reconsider???

I am interested to hear how this gets resolved. Let me know please. I would hope they would send you a new one right away and then you return the defective one instead of having to wait another 5-10 days??'
