It's not really a big deal, but since I switch between the two (I keep a 3.5" BP on the PC) I tend to notice the cord length. After owning both a PC and a UDM if I had to buy only one of them it would be the UDM.

I agree on the cord length .. too short .. '
I have 3 UDMs .. 2 have failed with brush issues and I bastardized one of them into working by using one brush from each .. so far so good .. then the speed switche failed so I basatardized again .. still going ..
The third has worked for 2 months now with no issues and I use it 3 times a week .. Mind you they all lasted this long.
Too bad you can't buy parts as changing brushes/switches isn't brain surgery..
Does it work great ... yes ...
Would I buy another .. no .. not with the luck so far.
And I understand the new UDM is just a rebranded PC ( correct me if I'm wrong ) .. which I don't need as I have a PC also. The PC is my standby for when the UDM's fail.
