SVR has a little shameless behaviour in the past
Re: Ultimate Detailing Machine Project

David you are a man on a mission.
I was initially going to ask if you were going to do a 220 to 240 volt model but you've already answered that.
I'm not sure if the UK cord that plugs into the wall is the same as the two and the three tooth aussie model but if it can be bought and plugged straight in to ours down here, I'd be very happy to purchase one and it may have a great chance of selling well in Australia.

Sure my rotary is still going strong and the PC is patiently sitting on my shelf waiting for a converter ($150 +) but the more machines I have the better as my new detail shop is gonna be real busy soon.

What would detailing be without you to improve and even revolutionise some parts of it
Do you even sleep at night or are you go go go 24/7?

Gee what's next for Mr Autopia.

Re: Ultimate Detailing Machine Project

Is it May yet???!!! Am I wrong for guessing that this new machine is still going to be a Porter Cable but just upgraded? Or will it not carry any parts or naming from Porter Cable?

The plug is not the same, however... I WILL make an ROW kit for these two models for simple plug adapter conversion. That will work for direct sales from a US or UK reseller, but not for volume import into AU. To do that I need to get the AU consumer products certification. It's expensive. We will have it in June for the UK and already have UK importers in the works. The UK will only be 2 weeks behind the USA on initial delivery (flying them in via DHL). I will work with my local parts supplier on the adapter to go from the UK plug style to the AU plug style.

I'm pretty much going 24/7 via 3-4 pots of coffee a day. It's worth it to bring these new products to market. I'm very fortunate to have an amazing team of suppliers and creative people helping me bring the polisher project to life.

BTW, I guess you Aussies missed my radio interview the other morning. I was on with Ross Solly on 666 ABC Canberra. Go figure!

Not one single part in common with the Porter Cable machine, but you'd never know it by looking at it.

Exactly. I can tell you all day long how good I think it is, but the real judges are you guys. What I think doen't mean squat.

How do I get to be one of the beta testers? My partner and I will show it no mercy.

Beta testing is done. I'm already into production. 5,000 units will be finished before June. I will begin filling the reseller channel in late May.

I would still be interested either way but that would be a really great thing if you do work out a program.
