The SB Pad works fine with both 6" and 5" backing plates. With a 6" backing plate it is a little more agressive. This is the setup I like the most.

sorry dave, but i have 1 last ? before i jump in tomorrow.you say to load up the swirl buster pad ,does that mean fill up 2 rings and go at it for the 1st 2x2 section.after that for the next section should i do the same....cause that seems like a awful lot of polish.

thanks bud.....i cant wait to see the results.

I basically put two rings of polish into the grooves. It is a lot of polish, but it covers a pretty good size area. When I do my Cayenne I use about 4 ounces (maybe a little less).

Remember to spray the pad with a couple shots of detail spray (before you load the pad) to keep the pad moist.
