UDM and heating

working on a car today, i noticed my UDM is getting pretty hot. at 5k rpms and up, it gets almost untouchable... im concerned it will conk out on me during a job...

my question is is this heat normal? i dont remember it getting this hot with my previous udm.

i know you guys ship out of san diego, but i dont know if thats where your located... if you are in san diego, im up in san marcos, and id gladly come to your shop or location and show you what i mean.

thanks.

We have recently identified the cause of an overheating issue. The problem we found with the units was that the insulation washer was not installed on the backing plate. This causes the rivets to hit the guard and the machine over-heats. Something you might check to make sure.

As far as our location, our warehouse is located within ARC of San Diego but we don't have staff on site. I am actually out in Apple Valley so it would be tough to check out your machine. If you think there is an issue, just send me and email and like always, I will take good care of you. Lynn @ ThePerfectShine.com
