UDM Brush Failure

I want to buy a UDM but before I do I want to know if there are any changes to the units currently being sold to prevent brush failure. Either way my mind is made up but I thought I would ask. I am a weekend warrior, not a pro so it wont be used everyday but I do have a few RX7's a Durango, and a newer Chevy work van that will see this machine.

Re: UDM Brush Failure

to the best of my knowledge it only affected certain production dates. it happened to me... while on a job nonetheless. but im pretty sure it should be resolved with the UDM2

i know this is off topic

but im looking into getting an fc rx7 project. im already lurking rx7club.com, but do you know of any good build threads? im plan on doing a street port by racing beat, if i choose not to do it myself. i have no experience in PnP but im not afraid to learn...

Re: UDM Brush Failure

Pineapple racing and Atkins rotary sell templates for different size ports. They have rebuild vids and pnp vids online you can watch. As far as rx7 club there are so many build threads that start out good then they die. You should be able to search under my engine rebuild or something similar. Let me see if I can find some of the good ones Ive read before.

Oh yeah thanks for the info!
