Damaged Leather - ??? for David B

I think Im going to get the Sonus leather cleaner and conditioner based on your input and recommendations from several people who have used it. But what will it do to the leather on my newly purchased car? Is the Sonus line just for maintaining leather? Im wondering if sanding/dying is my only option?

Do you know if Toyota 4Runner leather is vinyl coated? Will Sonus work?

Lastly, where can I buy the CBT towels?

Thanks

I don't think any leather cleaning/conditioning product will repair the cracks in your leather.

Yes, the Toyota 4Runner leather is coated. The cracked look could be normal wear or it could be that the dye came off where the leather has heavy creases due to normal wear. I have seen Toyota and Nissan leather do this. The good news is that it can be repaired if you take it to a leather shop.

The Sonus Leather Care Bundle would be good choice for the care and preventative maintenance.

As far as the CBT towels, we no longer carry them as they have changed. You might want to check out the Sonus Der Wunder Buffing Towel. They are not the same but they are a very nice towel.

Leatherique will close up those cracks. You can likely improve that by 75%, it won't be perfect, but it sure will look better.

See previous thread on Leatherique, refer to fotos of black Porch 928 interior

I tried Leatherique on some crack leather and I don't think it closed the cracks but cleaned the dirt out them so they didn't show up nearly as bad. I would only give it maybe a 30 percent improvement.

I have some normal creases in my Honda Pilot leather but not missing dye. I have noticed that if I keep them clean and conditioned with the Sonus they are much less noticeable. I think the key with the creases is to keep them clean so dirt doesn't wear the leather prematurely.
