Unhappy My UDM just died

Looks like my UDM has just taken it's last oscillation.

It has a whooping 10 hours of use so far. This afternoon I noticed that speed 1 was acting goofy, it would seem to stall really easily, but the other speeds were great. Then a few minutes later, I turned it off buffed out some polish, and then tried to restart it, no go. A quick hit to the top and it started up, but speeds 1-3 were surging like crazy, 4-6 were fine. A few more cycles on (with a hit to start each time) and off and now nothing happens.

I already sent an email for a return. I had read all of the failures here but thought that I'd be ok since there were only 11 failures, but I have no luck

I guess I got a good one because I probably have 200+ hours on mine with no problems so far.

I hear that David has been really good about taking care of the problem units.

I am sorry to hear that. But Lynn & David where absolutely fantastic when mine pooped out on me. In all honesty, they blew me away with how well they took care of the problem. Since then I have ordered off Autopia as much as I can.

So, get in touch with them and they will make it right.

Re: My UDM just died

I got my replacement UDM today. It sounds completely different than the original. The original had an odd bit of rattle in it that I thought nothing off. But now that I hear this one I can tell a difference.

you know what, that was my exact experience. My first one had an odd rattle and I actually posted about it asking if it was normal. I had a few saying it wasnt normal and some saying it was. Sure enough a detail later it crapped out on me and experienced the same thing you did. After I received my new one it sounded COMPLETELY different than my old one. I love their customer service!
