Re: A serious warning (aka How I spent my New Year's Holiday)
Sorry to hear about that. Ive had the same things happen to me, ie.. slurred/jumbled speach, numbness on the right side of my face and right hand.. I also thought I was having a stroke but it turned out to be the onset of a migraine.
Get well..

Re: A serious warning (aka How I spent my New Year's Holiday)
Sounds like it's time for medication. I started on it last year. Had stopped at Sam's Club one weekend & decided to try their little blood pressure testing machine. The reading was 165/108. Called a doctor first thing on the following monday morning & went in the next day. Luckily, I've responded well to the BP medication, though have gone through several prescriptions due to some very undesirable side effects.
It's not so bad tho... definitely better than the alternative- so get it under control!
Good Luck!

Glad to hear you didn't have a stroke. High blood pressure can be controlled through diet, exercise and medication so be committed to a healthy lifestyle so we can have you around for a long time.

Take it easy brother... My thoughts and prayers are with you too. Diet, exercise and a good positive mental attitude. I lost about 40 lbs last year. I am over 50 and it's made a world of difference.

Hope you get better man! My wife had similar symptoms a while back. Her one whole side went numb and her face. Ended up being a migrane.

Re: A serious warning (aka How I spent my New Year's Holiday)
Guys,
I am taking this VERY seriously. For starters, my doctors have prescribed a total of 6 meds for me to take. Second, my doctors have prescribed a 2g sodium diet and a low cholesterol/low fat diet.
As it sits, I am taking it easy until Monday.
