pwraudio1- The link you provided has some good info, but I'm still not gonna go along with those dosages/cycles. No problem if the author and I don't agree on *everything*

The cycling off is to allow the receptors to recover enough to allow continued uptake. Note that the idea for this comes from a U.S. study from '94, back before much was really understood about creatine (at least in America). IMO the more recently developed approach of staying on, but using smaller doses, makes more sense *to me*. If I run across the info I'll post some particulars.

But I'm not saying that the quick-cycle approach won't work just fine. I don't know where my info is to look this stuff up, so I'm not gonna say "that must be wrong" just because I went another way because I read about different studies.

FWIW, I did the regular loading/5 gram maintenance for years, and it worked fine.

The first week off shouldn't cause any real losses since you don't lose creatine saturation all that fast (it usually takes at least two weeks). I dunno about that three weeks off, but I'd *guess* it'd work as intended but *I* wouldn't want to limit my gains for that long, let alone risk losing size and strength every other month. I make steady progress for months at a time, but of course everyone is a little different.

All this hair splitting is sorta like the P21S vs. Souveran debate and I hope I don't sound like a self-righteous know-it-all Like finding a detailing product you like and using it regularly, just *exercising* is more than most people will ever do, and taking creatine (any way you do it) is like a wax topper over a good sealant.

Just saw this thread for the first time so I figure I should weigh in, so to speak.

I'm 5'6" and weigh about 165 lb. Last time I was checked (couple months ago), I was @ 7% BF. I'm probably the shortest guy on this forum.

Most of my exercise comes from rock climbing, running, and now detailing. Hah! The weird thing is that I weighed a bit *less* before I started climbing. I don't mind the extra weight though as I know my %BF has gone down a lot so my story is that I replaced it with muscle.

My target is around 6% BF and about 160lb. I don't really have a special diet to recommend to anyone though. I always seem to be hungry and I eat about 4-5 meals a day (although none of them are what you would call a full meal unless I eat out.)

For me at least, the keys are to eat small meals regularly to keep your metabolism going. For my climbing, I alternate between bouldering (which develops power) and top-roping (which develops muscle endurance.)

Now if only there was an exercise to make you taller....

maecrispy- Sounds like you're *really* in good shape How do you get your bodyfat measurements?

And if your bf% didn't go up, but your weight did, then yeah, you *did* gain muscle. With all the climbing, I can see why you wouldn't want any extra weight (of any kind).

Oh, and I dunno if you're the shortest guy here. I think at least one Autopian is around 5' 4".

I just went to the clinic here at UM. They used some sort of caliper device and I've also been measured in some sort of water tank before. I don't even pretend to understand it all. I just go in to get checked periodically and they tell me a number.

As far as climbing goes, you really do want to optimize your weight. Some of these guys who weigh less than 140 lbs. can do amazing things that the 200+ guys can only dream about. No doubt the bigger guys are stronger but strength to weight ratio is what seems to matter in climbing.

As an example, one of my buddies is about 230+ and he can do about 5-10 three fingered pull-ups. I can probably do about 20-25 even though he's much stronger than I am. It makes all the difference in the world when you're near the top of a route and you need to pull for that last hold.

A far as being short, I like it sometimes and sometime I don't. You have a different center of gravity which suits some sports and not other. in soccer, I love it. In climbing, I wish I was 4-6 in. taller. Tall climbers can sometimes skip holds that I have to work harder to make. Ah well, I'm happy being short.

I just think it's cool that many autopians are into fitness at all different levels. I would not have expected that on this forum.

Yes. GNC powder form (about the consistency of powdered sugar, VERY fluffy). 1 tsp (5g) in each of my two daily protein shakes.

I dont, and from what I have been reading on bb.com and from others, it doesn't seem to have that much of a benefit if anything at all. If you can afford it, then go for it. Creatine is a def. yes IMO.

Btw, just so you know, you get plenty of glutamine from cottage cheese. I also work at GNC, so if you have any questions, feel free to ask me about any products.

Not at present. I used to take quite a bit of it (10 grams or so/day) but I decided it wasn't worth the money and hassle.

I am thinking of doing this beginnin program. www.worldboxinggym.com As some of you know I am a boxing freak and hit my bags a lot. However, I think it would be great to learn how to hit them the proper way and learn a good diet and so on. What do you all think?

I will be adding Glutamine to my supplement stake Monday! It should work well with my Creatine, MRP, Multi-Vitamins, Vitamin C and Whey Protein.

I started the SB Diet about 6 weeks ago... started with a weight of 191, and as of last Monday I was down to 179.. my goal is 174.. It's all about what/how much you eat.. low cards/good carbs versus junk food. This is not a fad diet but a new way to look at food and what is good for you..

I figure in the next month I should be down to my goal. Which is really weird, cuz when I graduated HS, my weight was 169, and all through basic training I remained the same weight. It wasn't until I started sitting that I started gaining weight...

If you guys have the will power to stick to YOUR routine, anything is possible.
