If you're stuck on "big" breakfasts, then you can curb that by eathing low fat ham on wheat bread (either low/no fat mayo or with low/no fat cheese). Protein gives you energy and the wheat burns slower than white bread. Also you can try eating your breakfast later in the morning (I eat mine on break at work)

Physical results
So far, my doctor gave me a clean bill of health. The only issue besides my weight was my blood pressure (180/90) . He gave me a pill to take in order to reduce it.
He also told me that many people of my dimensions/stature are not very mobile and he was quite surprised that I had a high degree of mobility and flexibility.
However, I have another appointment to have my blood work done.

Prinz, that systolic number is pretty high. It's a lot of strain on your heart to pump if you're overweight. It's good that you're seeing the doc, the blood pressure meds should help alot. Probably the most other important thing is your risk for diabetes, bad combo.

Thanks for the breakfast comments.
I find that I can't eat too many sweets early in the morning. Are the protein shakes very sweet?
The ham slice is an excellent idea. That's low fat.

They can be on the sweet side. Not like juice or a real shake. I usually make mine with water so they may taste a little "diluted" and not so bad. Some taste like pure crap though so if you do decide to go with protein shakes you may have to "test" different brands and flavors. Right now I drink the Myoplex Strawberry ones exclusively.

Myoplex
We have that at our health food store, so I'll give it a try.

I've been using GNC Mega Whey in both chocolate and strawberry. Whey is good quality easily digestable protein and the GNC stuff is not too expensive. When mixed with water, they are not that sweet. I find that it you let them sit for a minute or two after you mix them, they get a little thicker with more body, which I like better.

For my first protein of the day (immediately post-cardio) and also (with carbs) immediately after my weight work, I like Isopure's Orange Creamsicle (got a bad batch, like toxic-bad taste/smell, of their strawberry that sorta turned me off that flavor). Not the "Zero Carbs" one though, their protein-only stuff just isn't palatable. Their stuff and MetRx (gee, how old-school) work well for me digestion-wise; more than I can say for lots of others. Did I just recommend a manufacturer that lets toxic-bad batches slip through?

More news from my doctor
This past Saturday, I had bloodwork done. After all the tests were run, the only thing my doctor found was that my cholesterol was 273. Outside of that, he finds that everything is ok.

Good luck NYD and PrinzII on your dieting.
I am actually dieting to gain weight!
Back in November after boot camp I was a thin and toned 115 pounds. The small amounts of food along with high physical activity made me go down to 115 from 140 in 3 months.
Now in February, I got weighed in at 165 pounds and stand at 5'6. In 3 1/2 months I managed to gain 50 pounds, a little fat I lost at boot camp but mainly lean muscle mass. Still maintain a 29 trouser size though.
I would eat 4 main meals a day and snack on things all the time. I would have a protein shake and protein bar the night after each workout. I would spend 2 hours at the gym during each workout session which is usually 3-4 times a week depending on my training program. Also 3 times a week I would run 4-5 miles with my class at a steady pace (9 minute miles.) So there is my cardio workout.
I know this thread is about losing weight but does anyone know how to slow my metabolism down so I can gain more muscle?
I spend so much money o0n food its not even a joke. I can sit down and have a large pizza with dominos with like 4 or 5 toppings and then be hungry 2-3 hours later.....
