Re: Best/favorite protein shake?

I've been ordering from DPS Nutrition for at least seven years.

For a quality blended protein powder at a great price, you can't beat Champion Nutrition's Pure Whey Stack. Champion Pure Whey Stack Choc - 5 Lb by Champion Nutrition at DPS Nutrition - The Nation's leader in Discount Nutrition

More size: "big movements" like squats, deads, chins.. and as many good calories as you can take without gaining a lot of fat. As the old saying goes, "want bigger [anything]- work harder on your squats". Sounds like BS but it's true.

This is the absolute truth.

+1000

I have pretty big arms...currently about 18.5", but they have been 20". Guys used to ask, "How do I get bigger arms?" I always respond with a question; "Are you squatting and deadlifting?"

Re: Best/favorite protein shake?

Hey, different type of meal replacement powder Q:

With my favorite 1st-thing-in-morning MRP discontinued (Myolplex's Tropical flavor), I gotta figure out something else that I'll enjoy before taking the dogs out There just aren't too many flavors of MRPs I can stand before my (regular) breakfast and no, I'm not gonna suck it up and drink something that I don't enjoy

I can find flavors that'd be OK, but only in *zero carb* protein drinks, and that's not what I need.

I want a good serving of (non-sugar) carbs and some fat too, enough calories to fuel a long outing with the dogs or a few hours of landscaping/etc. work. So I'm basically looking for a fairly high-carb MRP that mixes up into a thick vanilla shake, like the old "mass builder" drinks only without all the sugar.

I'll mix that up 50:50 with the zero carb stuff in the flavors I like, and with any luck it'll be a decent replacement for my Myoplex Tropical stuff.

Any suggestions?

Re: Best/favorite protein shake?

Gemini13- Thanks for the suggestions, but that's not what I'm after...it would be an OK MRP in itself, but I want something high-carb to mix with an all-protein product.

I'm currently leaning towards a product from Parrillo that might do the trick...almost all carbs.

Re: Best/favorite protein shake?

Parrillo is still around, lol Way back I bought the Nutriutional/Exercise package. Him and his fascia training. The recipes were/are great though. I remember his big thing was eat around 10,000 calories a day. Also I remember the MCTs.

Re: Best/favorite protein shake?

John Styrnol- Yeah, I'd pretty much forgotten all about him until I saw him referenced in a book I just got (The Purposeful Primative).

Gemini13- What does that stuff taste like, and what's its "mouth feel"? The link says "unflavored" and that kinda gives me pause as I'd bet my life it's not flavorless.

Heh heh, I know I sound all difficult about this stuff but I'm one picky SOB when it comes to my MRPs; I gotta like everything about 'em or I'll just try something else. As I go through a lot of them (every day) I insist on enjoying the stuff

Re: Best/favorite protein shake?

I used this for years. Mix a little bit of creatine, about 1 table spoon, in the shake after you're work out and your good to go.
