Re: Job available in Portland, OR: Experienced Detailer ($13/hr)
I guess I still like to own my business Charging between $35-45/hr.
But then again, I only do this about 20% for the money and 80% customer satisfaction.
Good Luck tho!

So, since the thread is 2 months old, were there any applicants? Anyone hired from here?

Re: Job available in Portland, OR: Experienced Detailer ($13/hr)
No applicants from here, but I found a novice for $10 an hour.
He's very useful for:
1. Pre vacuums and post vacuums.
2. Prep of doorjambs, wheels, wheel wells, cowls, window seals, etc.
3. Windows
4. Shampooing
5. Shop cleanup and van set up and break down.
Most young men can learn these skills in 5 - 10 days. He'll be skilled in 6 months and earn $13 an hour.
But I'm always accepting applications, just in case he or my lead guy go down.

Is $13-$16 p/hr really the going rate around Portland? Seems low, but with the cost of living being what it is here in SoCal maybe thats why it does.

Re: Job available in Portland, OR: Experienced Detailer ($13/hr)
I regularly browse job listings here, and $10 to start is normal.
Many dealerships and dealers post $10 - $14 an hour to lure people in, but everyone starts at $10 and very slowly moves up from there...if ever.

Re: Job available in Portland, OR: Experienced Detailer ($13/hr)
yes very true. The only reason the have someone as skilled as me is because im an idiot for staying there. I have never had any really good help, a couple decent interior guys but that's about it. I buy a lot of my own supplies too as all the want to provide is no name bulk products that are worthless in my opinion.

Wait, Portland, Oregon?
That's where I'm at.
PM me.
I won't come to any conclusions about the pay until I learn more about the situation.
