1st time buffer...need guidance

I never used a buffer but i thought this weekend would be the perfect time so I decided to put my skills to the test. I first used some poli-seal since i just bought it. glossed but no correction occured. changed up to #83. no different. now i have hazing and swirls on my trunk. thank god i didn't go any further.
I'm taking to whole week off of week to figure out why i not getting this right. any pro's are near bremerton or don't mind my stoping by I could use some guidance...

there are lots of factors that determine your results. what kind of car are you working on, and what machine, pads, and products are you using?

Theres a huge difference between PS and 83......

i am using the hatachi at 1300 rpm. white pad. its a black lincoln ls.

PC/UDM/Flex probably would have a better choice for first time buffing/polishing choice. Hazing and swirling using can be easily installed on car finish from improper rotary use. As long as the swirls are not too bad, I would recommend switching to a PC or similar DA and use a polish like Menzerna IP/FPII. Start with least agressive polish and pad combo ensuring to fully break down product in a test area. Once the test area combo works, then move onto rest of the car.

Hey Vic,

Where are you located? You might want to find an experienced autopian nearby. Also, if the white pad isn't cutting it, maybe a mild wool could have a bigger impact. As with most rotaries and not enough skill level, you will get some hazing which you need to buff out with a finishing pad & mild swirl remover (like Ultrafina SE) at slow speed.
