The "Village" to Manhatten

Hey guys,

I will be in NY in Aug. for a wedding. A high school buddy lives in the Village and the wedding is in Manhatten. I'm curious how far those two places are from each other as I have a free place to stay in the village. I've never been to NY so I'm clueless!

Thanks,
Rob Regan

The "Village" is in Manhattan

The Village is short for Greenwich Village; a cool part of Manhattan (NYC) that is an area below 14th Street and west of Broadway (I used to work up on 21st Street). It attracts an eclectic goup of people. It's a lot of fun to hang out in the area. It is very bohemian.

There are TONS of cool bars, pubs, clubs, shops and street things to check out. As the saying goes, "the city never sleeps." There is stuff going on all hours of the day.

You're going to love it if you've never been to NYC. Just make sure your buddy takes you around. You'll see thousands of different kinds of people, eat awesome food and be bombarded by the sights and sounds.

Awesome! Ya, he left CA to be a hair stylist years ago. He was the guitar player in our punk band back in '88. He recently did a photo shoot with Keith Richard's daughter- has a good clientle from what I hear. Super cool guy and the NY life fits his personality. It'll be fun and I'm sure he knows the places to hang. Thanks! I am glad it is in the same area- I can save a fortune on the the hotel- wedding party is staying at the Hudson and Ritz. Hey, if you need a few towels, I'll bring some along and you can get the ultimate delivery- free from CA.

Thanks, Rob

LOL, thanks!

The Hudson is totally schwank! It's pretty sick. Try to get up there and have a drink if you know some of the people staying there. It is an awesome place to chill.

Here is the bar from their website: http://www.hudsonhotel.com/hudson_hotel_hudson_bar.asp

You can check out the other areas of the hotel from the website.

The Ritz is very cool too, but the Hudson is more "hip" so to speak.

You're going at the perfect time of the year. The warm weather brings the beautiful women out of the woodwork. It's so true! You'll get whiplash.

Have fun!
