Looking for a Mentor / NY Area

I'm looking to see if anyone is willing to mentor me in how to detail a car. I'm new to this and curretnly own a 2008 Infiniti G37S (that needs to have swirls removed). I learn best by watching and doing it hands on so I was hoping someone would like to meet up, have a couple of brews if you'd like, and just relax and detail. I live in the Nassau County area, but am willing to travel. I have no problem paying you for your time, and or supplies. Im figuring it it would work out best considering i need to detail my car to take out the swirls i have, we do that (of course i would pay you for this) and teach me at the same time. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Joey C

G35stilez or jsatek considering ive talk to both of you already and seen your insane work hopefully we can work something out

Re: Looking for a Mentor / NY Area

Maybe this would be a good op to have a CT/NY meet up? I would like to see jastek and g35stilez in action and hopefully learn a few things (if they would be okay with it).

I'll bring the beer and food. Lets try to choose a time when the weather is a bit warmer so we're not all standing in a crowded garage.

Re: Looking for a Mentor / NY Area

Can you get into your dealership on a weekend? Might be a good location.

Joey -

Is the shop really a option ? Tools, etc lying around. GM, Insurance, etc ?

Anyhow, a meet sounds pretty interesting. I've got some new toys coming in I can lug in as well........mytee, etc.

Re: Looking for a Mentor / NY Area

Yes my shop is an option. Its a huge shop that holds up to 25 - 30 cars. You wouldnt be covered under ins. if thats what your asking lol. Im a fleet mang. here and i have off on the weekends so using the shop on a sat. will be no prob. The only prob. i see is if there are alot of people in the shop it might give a bad impression from the GM here.

I can do the meet anywhere but if where looking at 5 or more people we might be better off picking a better place

Re: Looking for a Mentor / NY Area

I see. I meant will the GM let you in the garage due to *the company insurance. Since you're the fleet manager, I guess you're the boss ;-)
