Cool Re: Official Motorcycle Thread

This is my first motorcycle. I bought it a couple of years ago.

The bike is filthy in this picture. Chain was recently lubed and it shot goop all over the rear wheel. Not to mention all the insects on it from the previous nights.

Full Yoshimura exhaust + jetted.
After market suspension.

Still seems to keep up with my friends newer 600cc bikes. The old(er) models accommodate my 6'4" height better. Pretty comfortable bike!

Re: Official Motorcycle Thread

Nice bikes everyone! Does anyone know if there are any nice sport bikes in the $5-7k range that are noticably roomier, sit more upright and are more comfortable than the "typical" sport bikes?

You might take a look at a used VFR around 2004-2005, you should be able to find good examples in your price range. The VFR is commonly referred to as the gentleman's sportbike.

There is a great forum dedicated to the VFR where you can find a lot more information.

Inline 4 :

Kawasaki ZZR600

Honda F4i

V Twin :

Suzuki SV650

Ducati Monster

If you ride a lot on the freeway, you might want to avoid the Ducati Monster and naked (fairingless) version of the SV650. They are comfortable around town, but at high speeds the wind turbulence can get fatiguing.

If you decide on a Honda F4, look at the older models, as they have a more comfortable seat.

My 2008 Harley Davidson FLHX Street Glide. This is my 2 wheeled therapy. Hook up the iPod, crank the tunes and fuget about it.

Re: Official Motorcycle Thread

That is a sweet 'Glide! I was actually checking out a Crimson Red one today at the dealer. So how is it on long rides?

This is my new Ducati 1098s 2008 in Balck, it has full Termignoni exhaust system
with race ECU and filter, charcoal filter removed, Open clutch with open carbon cover, custom foot pegs,
rear carbon fiber mud guard, racing ducati seat, delimited speed limit, and now it is in the shop getting the headers and exhaust pips ceramic coated in matt black.

Awesome bike!

I'd love to own a new M6 and Ducati @ the age of 27. You have a good taste in transportation .
