Boat Wax on an RV???

I've got an RV project coming up. Just a wash and wax but I've never done one before. I've got a bunch of Collinite Boat Wax lying around...Can I use that on the RV? Boat wax is pretty tough so I imagine the durability would be pretty good. This isnt something I see myself doing alot so I don't want to have to buy a product if boat wax will be fine. Let me know your thoughts on that, thanks guys.

Re: Boat Wax on an RV???

I am pretty sure you can, boat finish and rv finish are usually both gel coated.

Re: Boat Wax on an RV???

Is the RV the old style white gel coat? Or like all the new Class a and some class C types that have full body paint? If it is paint then you should not use the boat wax as it will likely be too aggressive.

Re: Boat Wax on an RV???

My understanding is that Collinite 845 Insulator Wax (very popular on cars) is also sold as 925 Fiberglass Boat wax........ just an FYI

Re: Boat Wax on an RV???

I think the waxes are pretty much the same, boat polishes for gel coats are more aggressive and should not be used on paint.. I use car products like Color X on my outboard and painted aluminum boat..
