Help: How to Polish Jet Ski - By hand or buffer?

I have already searched. Just looking for a general wash, polish, wax process write up.

My friend bought a 2007 SeaDoo Jet ski in mint condition. He wants to wash, polish and wax. He has Megs boat wash, Collinite 920 & Collinite 925. I have read suggestions to NOT clean the hull.

What is everybody doing? Should i polish/wax the hull?

Is is better to polish by hand?
Do u tape up the trim before polishing?

thanks

Re: Help: How to Polish Jet Ski - By hand or buffer?

If your Jet Ski is gel coat, gel coat is extremely Hard and requires a rotary polisher with wool pads in order to remove all defects.

You would compound and polish gel coat as you would car paint, the only difference is that you must use more abrasive pads and polishes then you would on car paint.

From what he has,

Tell him to polish with the 920, and wax with the 925. Not much else you can do.

How do you intend to polish and wax without cleaning the hull first?

And yes, tape up all rubber and ABS plastic trim. Polish is hell to get off once it touches these things.
