Marine detailing liability insurance ?

Any of you marine detailers have this problem ?

I have shoped several ins. broakers and it seems that the type of policy for marine detailing is very limited (May just be a state of California thing) meaning that I have almost no choices for carriers and have to pay an Extra $100.00 every time we get a boat in a new marina.

The extra $100.00 is to add the marina as a co-insurer in the event of a claim
Where I live there are probably 15 different marinas and they are hard core, no bending the rules

Got any info regarding different insurance carriers

mine is Nautilus

Re: Marine detailing liability insurance ?

I've came across the same problem when adding a boat rider to my policy. Unfortuantly you're really limited and at the mercy of those lack of options. You may be able to finagle a different rate based on where the boat is being detailed at. Ie in the water vs. in the hanger on a rack type of thing. I know if your detailing the boat in the water they get extreamly strickt about products and such and the liability of you hanging over the sides etc etc etc. The right insurence adjuster can get pretty creative when they need to be.
