What do I charge to detail a 27 Foot Outboard motor boat

What do I charge to detail a 27 Foot Outboard motor boat

The customer wants the boat washed and waxed. No interior.

What do i charge? I never did a boat before. The customer is supplying all of the products to use.

Thank you

Well, if its oxidized you will need to get that handled first, but if its a new boat and wax is going to actually work I would charge about $6 a foot if it were me. I would use a sealant instead of wax if he has some Klasse HGSG or something.

Re: What do I charge to detail a 27 Foot Outboard motor boat

I am not sure how old the boat is - It is in his shop. He owns a Car repair shop.

If the boat needed to be polished out, would I use a machine with a wool pad or should I do it by hand?

Thanks

Re: What do I charge to detail a 27 Foot Outboard motor boat

I charged him $150 - Did it this morning. It took me 3 hours. I used Royal satin cleaner wax. It was his product.

The boat was in the corner of his shop. I couldnt wash it. I had to soap it down and wipe it off. The reason being there were machines all around the boat that I could not get wet.

The boat was up on blocks. It needed to be done today because the boat is leaving the shop tomorrow.

After seeing the boat, I should of charged him $6 a foot.

If you learned a lot doing it then the 150 was okay, because 150 was a deal!

Yeah I am ready for the next boat. Do you usually wax these boats by hand or do you use a foam bad and a machine?

I use my PC and a grey or red pad, MUCH quicker. I let the wax "cure" while I clean up my stuff then wipe down the extra wax and away I go.
