What to use to get burnt boot material off chrome pipes?

Anyone dealt with this before?

My dads girlfriend has a Screamin' Eagle Harley Bike (not sure which model). Anyway its got marks on the pipes from the heal of her boot touching it and burning the rubber onto the pipe. I tried what I have and nothing works yet (adheasive remover, goo gone, neverdull, clay bar)...

Any other suggestions at how to get it off?

Try a decent metal polish (e.g. Wenol red, Flitz, Simichrome, etc.), a cotton terry cloth, and some elbow grease.

I have heard a lot about Blue-Job being able to remove the rubber marks. But I have not tried it for that, only for blue patina.

Start the bike up and warm the pipes up, take a putty knife and scrape it off. Be careful and try not to scratch it. I had a plastic bag get stuck on my exhaust tip and this worked. You will have to use goo gone to remove the rubber residue.

Polish and your done

One of the magazines had an article or ad or something about oven cleaner. Spray the Easy Off on (don't get ANY on the paint), let it sit overnight, and it wipes right off.

I tried heating up the pipe, no luck, tried blue job and wenol, no luck....

I'll try oven cleaner next...

Its mirror looking chrome, not sure I want to take steel wool to it...

Use S100 polishing soap available at any Harley dealer. I had some bootmarks on my high mount pipes on my RC51 and it took them right off...little scrubbing is needed, but wont scratch...actually made my titanium pipes look even better. Just follow the directions on the can.

I got it from my brother when he sold his HD...gave it a try and LOVED IT!!

Give it a try...along with S100 total cycle wash...another great product

The longer you wait, the worse it gets (assuming the bike is ridden) I've never had a problem with Blu-Job getting everything off my pipes (skin, boots, bags)
