Flat blue?

What product should be used on my flat/matt blue 06 Kawasaki Z1000? I would like a good sealant if possible.

Re: Flat blue?

Jeff Werkstatt's Prime and Acrylic Jett would look nice and has great durability

Re: Flat blue?

I'm not sure how you're supposed to protect matte/flat finishes.

Harley uses it, but says no wax and to not even use car wash soap on it (My buddy says the manual says to use dishwashing detergent)

Any scuffs/scratches/wear is supposed to 'enhance' the look LOL

Re: Flat blue?

Hey nyrep1
I put a coat of nxt 2.0 on my rear seat cowl two months ago and it looks great still. But the cowl is in my closet because of the winter here in CT so I don’t know how the paint would look out in the sun. I guess I will have to wait for the nice weather to come back before I find out. Does your flat titanium seem to soak up the Adams detailer spray when you apply it? That’s how it was when I applied the wax. Almost like putting wax on a car with dead paint.

Re: Flat blue?

If you want to preserve the matte finish you obviously can't polish or wax it. I have some friends who are using dilute simple green for cleaning.

Maybe try Pig Spit in an inconspicuous place and see how that works as a "sealer".
