Minnesota business??
how many guys here are from MN?....or can anyone tell me what the market is like in the Twin Cities for mobile detailing or detailing period starting in the spring?..maybe around late April till about late September?
I am originally from MN and was hoping as long as my business really takes off where i want it to in the next 6 months, i would really like to get a rig going this summer once the weather is nice up there in the cities...i know lots of people store there vehicles during the winter ans show season gets started up there and i could capitalize on that by offering something fi the need is there??
and then if it works out i would make it a yearly thing to come up for a few months every summer to take care of customers up there...
any insight to the demand that is there in MN would be great!....thanx in advance

I live in Rochester and Lake City. I have traveled up to the cities a handful of times to perfect autopian cars, and I see about a 300-350 full detail cost, but you could probably get more. It all depends on the area that you are planning on catouring to.

not sure how well you know the area but i would cater mostly to the North end of town.....Lino Lakes, Blaine, Circle Pines, Ham Lake, Maple Grove, White Bear Lake, Mounds Veiw, Shoreveiw, Roseville area.....but i would take anywhere really
i know its not the wealthiest area but its alot of middle/upperclass with fairly nice vehicles and lots of older cars, sports cars, and show cars that get stored during the winter......
as long as there is a decent demand for the work i will prolly be coming up in like April or May...

I would avoid winter months all together because there really isnt any steady business, but if you can get a steady stream of clients you could make ends meet during during the rest of the year.

Back from the dead.
It's April and I'm just starting to pick up a lot of winter storage business and people capitolizing on the nice weather to get off the road salt and grime from the past winter.
If you're still curious repost on here or send me a message. It'd be nice to talk to a local.

Re: Minnesota business??
I have to turn people away because I dont have the time or space to detail cars all the time. There is a good market in the Blaine area, which is where I live. Lots of nice new imports (BMW, Benz, Jag) around the area with the addition of the new golf course.

Re: Minnesota business??
Im in Woodbury and you would think that there would be more opportunities but there isnt. Perhaps people are so are overloaded with house payments they can afford detailing!

Re: Minnesota business??
If you're a mobile detailer, you could probably make yourself a great reputation around the suburbs. I've seen one or two vans on the interstate but never remember the names, so they're around.
My business is a brick and mortar shop right in downtown Mpls right off the freeway. I have contracts set up with 9 different underground parking ramps for the office buildings and towers for pickup/drop-off detailing while the clients are at work. Most of them don't have the time or patience to take care of their own cars... their commute is the only time they ever see them, and that's where I come in. I get a lot of normal clients through brochures, the website, and walk-ins but the majority of my business is those contracts.
