Don't know about a reference, but I'd definitely recommend getting ceramic (Huper Optik) tint.

if you can get up to laurel MD, Carlos at Solar Solutions is great. He tints MINIs at 35% for $100, so you can gauge how much glass you have compared to that of a MINI...
