I'll give a vote for Brooks Brothers also. There is a huge difference between the fit and overall quality of their products in relation to some of the lower tier retailers. They usually offer 3 shirts for about $159, which is around what you would pay for some of the more expensive shirts at one of the major department stores.

+ for B Bros. If you get your fit from them and know what you like, you can look for a BB outlet store to save even more!

Yeh, no kidding.

There is one in Vermont. I try to stop in, each time I'm up north. Last time, I scored a great 2 piece suit for under $300.

Holy crap you guys are making me feel old. It seems to me when Reagan was president he wore Brooks Brothers suits...they have a store in a mall near me and I remember looking at shirts and asked where the fitted shirts were and they laughed me out of the store. I guess this was at the time that I couldn't find any fitted shirts anymore at Macy's.

So now G35stilez puts up a link for BB's fitted shirts....what gives? Last time I bought dress shirts I wound up getting semi-custom because I just could not find fitted shirts anywhere...fortunately dress codes relaxed and now I can dress like a teenager (well, like I did when I was a teenager) most of the time at work.

EDIT: Um...my point was, that years ago when I couldn't find fitted shirts, I was told essentially that everybody was fat and there was no market for fitted shirts. What happened? You guys make it sound easy now...I thought we as a society were still getting fatter?

Mike:

I think the whole South Beach/Atkins craze had the clothing manufacturers catch on. Like I said, skinny guy in a standard dress shirt looks like a parachute.

I'am a Brooks Brother guy also, too bad there ain't any of their stores in Canada, but I always make a trip down to the Big Apple to get my stuff. BB invented the button down oxford polo shirt and have dressed presidents to hollywood celebs. There is not an issue of GQ that BB is not referenced to. I also love their sack suits, they are after all the quintessential American classic look.

Check your local Ross, TJ Maxx, Marshall's, Burlington Coat Factory, etc. Dress shirts there are usually around $10-$20, and are all name brands, such as Calvin Klein, BCBG, DKNY, Kenneth Cole.

Here is another source. I love LandsEnd. They have a lifetime guarantee.

"If you’re not satisfied with any item, simply return it to us at any time for an exchange or refund of its purchase price."

BTW, they have great jeans and blazers too. Custom fit at Levi prices.

H&M makes some very decent slim fit shirts, but i don't know if they have a retailer around your area. check them out too, they're normally 19.99 on sale, and 39.99 regular.
