Re: Finding The Right Dress Shoes

So what is the most versatile style of shoe to go with for business, but still be able to wear when going out? I like wingtips, but don't know how they would look if I am just wearing dress pants with a button down shirt with no tie when I go out.

I'd go with a dress slip-on.

Re: Finding The Right Dress Shoes

I prefer lace-ups, but a lot of that is how they fit me better. I would *NOT* wear wing-tips with anything other than a business suit, most any other "dressy" style oughta go OK with both business and nice casual stuff.

I'd hit up the Allen Edmunds website and look at the various styles they offer. Even if you don't buy something of theirs it oughta give you some ideas.

Re: Finding The Right Dress Shoes

I had that feeling. Thanks.

I tend to like lace ups in business situations. To me slip ons feel more dress casual. I'll probably just go with a set of plain toed lace ups. I do plan on buying a few pairs of dress/dress casual shoes this year as it is the one area of my wardrobe that is majorly lacking. I just need a versatile pair to wear as an only pair until I can afford another.
