Pants/Jeans favorite brands

For the past few years, I've been upgrading to designer jeans; Kenneth Cole, Lucky,
INC, etc. The quality and fit is much better than my old Wranglers and Levi's (hell,
they better be good for $100+ a pop). Anyhow, since we all care about appearances,
If i post a picture of myself wearing my low-rise boot cut designer jeans, can i get
honest opinions as to whether my butt looks too big or not?

Re: Pants/Jeans favorite brands

I find it incredibly hard to find jeans that fit my (rather muscular) seat and thighs properly without looking too loose and baggy The only jeans that ever fit me perfectly were from Willis and Geiger, but they're long out of business.

For khakis, I really, *really* like Bill's Khakis, but I still have to buy 'em one waist size too large (to get that seat/thigh room) and then have the waist taken in.

Re: Pants/Jeans favorite brands

Yes, certain brands just fit better and standard sizes aren't so standard.
The same goes for boots and shirts (also upgraded). For work boots,
Timberland Pro's, Red Wings and some Wolverines last more than
a year, which is good. And for shirts, Calvin Klein and Dockers are it.

Preferences or nit-pickyness... Probably a bit of both.

Re: Pants/Jeans favorite brands

I have two pairs of old navy super baggy jeans, a pair of levi's 567's, three pairs of ecko unlimited jeans. I wear my jeans maybe 2-3 times a week.

I used to be a t-shirt and jeans type of guy. Now a days I throw on a pair of 5.11 pants (5 or 6 pairs of their tactical cottons, 3 pairs of their tac lites, 2 pairs of their covert casual khakis), an undershirt, and an overshirt.

I am participating because I need to get some clothes. The rear gun sights are tearing into my beloved old navy crew neck shirts and my jeans are developing holes in them (these old navy clothes are about 7-8 years old, shows you how little I have changed in the past, grew a little though, 30X30 is former, now I need 30X32.)

I just get reluctant to spend over $25 on a pair of jeans because I know I'll wear the heck out of them. 5.11 pants ( 5.11 Tactical ) is supposed to e gear build to last but I wore out three pairs already (various rips and tears from leading an active lifestyle.)

Accumulator - my butt has gotten bigger due to some of the chicks in the gym looking at me and asking how I got my waist to be so thin while my chest and butt to be so muscular, I just tell them to track what I do on a leg/back day and they realise it doesn't come easy. Anyway...

I have a hard time finding jeans that fit right without looking like Dr. Dre or Snopp Dogg or any other gangsta with their jeans down to their knees. I need to keep a gun inside my waist band and I do prefer it to be on or above my posterior line, haha.

What I am saying is, justify me getting $100 + designer jeans, HAHA. I can't afford that right now, just spent a good chunk of money I don't have on suits to jump start my career post bachelors. Later one when I can dress the way I want I need advice on jeans!

Re: Pants/Jeans favorite brands

My jean collection could be considered by some to be excessive, but I wear jeans *a lot*, so I sort of collect them. My favorite (lately) has been the lucky bootleg--fair price, good fit, and great durability.

I like lucky, BKE (if I need throw-aways), seven, and a big star.

I have the opposite problem. I have a rather thin waist (32-33") and super long legs (36"). This makes it very difficult for me to find jeans in the store, so I'm forced to buy online. As I'm almost always kicking around in my ostrich skin boots (no, I'm not a cowboy... just love the boots!), I like the classic look of the Levi's 505 or 501s.

No matter where I go or what the occasion is, blue jeans is all I wear. I have about 20 pairs of jeans, most all by Levi's and a few Wrangler's. I prefer the relaxed or regular fit.

Re: Pants/Jeans favorite brands

I now buy my jeans from Lands End. Top quality and hemmed to my specifics to the quarter inch for free. Custom jeans at rack prices.

They also come with a 100% lifetime satisfaction guarantee.
Quote:
The Lands’ End guarantee has always been an unconditional one. It reads: “If you’re not satisfied with any item, simply return it to us at any time for an exchange or refund of its purchase price.” We mean every word of it. Whatever. Whenever. Always. But to make sure this is perfectly clear, we’ve decided to simplify it further. Guaranteed. Period.
Good looking, wide selection of styles and fabrics and a perfect fit. They are quite inexpensive for the quality.

Lands' End | Swimwear, Outerwear, Casual Clothing and more

They also have a virtual model system where you input your body measurements and they will tell you and show you how a particular product will fit you.

Re: Pants/Jeans favorite brands

Actually, I really don't wear jeans all that often..I'd still like to find something flattering though.

JasonC8301- I dunno...those 5.11s have a...uhm....image A bit too SWAT for me, but then I'm Mr. Conservative Civilian

I wonder how RailRiders stuff would work out for you. Give 'em a google.

Could you maybe melt/dehorn your carry gun to were it's not so hard on your clothes or is it just a constant-friction issue? My rear sights seem mighty smooth/rounded over, but then I'm not carrying all the time and they might do more damage than I'd expect.

jfelbab- How do you handle the shrinkage issue when specifying the inseam?

I'll buy four pairs of seemingly identical cotton pants (unfinished/unhemmed), launder them a few times before having the inseams done, and find that they don't all shrink exactly the same.

And yeah, Lands End has some nice stuff, especially for the money; I used to buy their dress/casual shirts and I can't remember *ever* wearing one out.

DavidB- I have the same waist as you, just a few (quite a few!) less inches of inseam Come to think about it, I don't think I've bought jeans in a store since the days of Levis Big Bells
