WIN. Kohls is freaking CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP but they have a huge selection of nice semi to dress clothes. Definitely go there if you have them nearby.

I like the 5.11 covert khaki's and have 3 pairs of them.

Covert Khaki Pants | Casual Pants | 5.11 Tactical

I match those with brown suede shoes and a earth colored top.

Currently I like my Allen Edmonds in brown suede,

Add that to a rust colored shirt, something like this,

Well it depends how old you are and how your generation would fit with different types of clothes. I get most of mine from JCPenney, Urban Outfitters, Banana Republic, and sometimes Sears.

Bill's Khakis with either a polo-type or cut-and-sewn shirt. Allen Edmunds casual shoes (also A.S Rigger and LL Bean shoes from back when they both offered narrow widths).

At 48 I guess I'm bordering on codgerdom, but the only time I wear jeans (or a T-shirt out in public) is when the situation makes that the most appropriate attire. I'm probably a bit "dressed up" most every time I leave the house but that's what works best for me.

Biggest hassle is finding pants/shirts that fit me OK without a lot of tailoring; alterations boost the price of a shirt something awful.

Re: Semi casual clothes for guys

I doubt I even know what semi casual is. I am only fairly certain the meanings of formal, business dress, and casual.

And for me casual clothes normally consist of a pair of Wranglers (13MWZ), a western shirt (used to be all pearl snaps - but the 'new wave' western wear designers changed all that, now my pearl snapped shirts are "retro" ). For footwear, that changes with the occasion; a pair of western boots (AKA manly footwear - in case you aren't familiar with the reference, check out Gary P. Nunn or Jerry Jeff Walker) or some Merrell or Lowa hikers, or some Brooks runners, or Teva's, or Birks. Otherwise it's just a pair of shorts, a t-shirt, and the aforementioned Teva's or Birks.

Re: Semi casual clothes for guys

gap, old navy, target all have nice clean casual clothes. i like wearing plain clothes that have no big emblems, or any designs on them. check out your local burlington coat factory, they have lots of clothes (initially i thought they sold only jackets which they don't) for a reasonable amount of money...

Ditto for me, I don't like being anybody's billboard. Though OTOH, I do like the embroidered sleeve emblems on my old Willis and Geiger polos (and cap), especially now that W&G is no longer with us. As affectations go, I kinda like the "hey, I'm old-school" aspect of it, but I realize that it *is* an affectation

At least the leather logo tag on Filson coats is pretty small and subtle.

Re: Semi casual clothes for guys

I'm amazed that I join an auto detailing website and I run across a "Men's Style & Fashion" section! Who'd a thunk it?

So here's my story. I've been in menswear for the past 26 years or so. so maybe I'll be one of your resident "Style and Fashion" guru's? Some might say because I've been in the industry so long I haven't grown with the changes. And they could be right. However I do have an open mind to all kinds of fashion and feel like, although I may not wear them myself, I can see the value and style in almost ANYTHING.

My one piece of advice to start. Always strive to look a little better than everyone else at the party. Even if that only means pressing your shirt when you know everyone else will have tons of wrinkles, it's the right thing to do. One of the benefits ... the ladies always notice.

Re: Semi casual clothes for guys

Allen Edmonds shoes are certainly nice, but I don't know if I would call them casual. Quite pricey too, I think my most recent pair was $300+ so I don't know if that is what the OP had in mind
