toyotaguy liked post by mshu7 On thread : Maintenance Contracts or Plans?
I'm definitely a fan of "maintenance" services. It's easy money and I'm caring for a car that in theory, is pretty clean since a) I've already detailed it and b) I'm taking care of it every 2-3...

I used to do them. A bit over a year ago I phased it out. I hate washing a car and going on-site to do it for even $65 was not worth it. I am too picky and ended up doing more than I should for $65....

You better really know and trust....and REALLY know, who you are sending them to. There are more dishonorable businessmen than there are honorable and all they will see is the potentially lost...

If you have enough room to get the applicator into the barrels without removing them, go for it.

JMO, but keeping work up to your standards when your not there may be alot tougher than you think. Good help is VERY hard to find. But if the work isn't tied to your name and people aren't...

i'm not eric but i'll take a stab at it. maybe the GG6 with MF/surbuf pads (along with the latest & greatest compounds/polishes available today) suits him well enough and gets the job done......

toyotaguy liked post by Auto Concierge On thread : What is the thinnest factory paint you've found? (for those with a PTG)
I just had a Audi Q5 in my shop, and one panel had previous strike thru already present with 4.7 Mils so this is why I will upgrade from a DFT DeFelsko to a model like I have from them which I use...

toyotaguy liked post by Shane.belzers On thread : I Bought the Volume Business - Help Refine My Process/Products
Basically what Richard pointed out is the best advice for being efficient aside from leaning tips and tricks to solving problems quicker without sacrificing quality. I run a dealer detail shop...

toyotaguy liked post by Jean-Claude On thread : Do you offer a quick wash only? And use a wash n' wax product?
No. Used to offer washes and it was not worth it. If someone wants a wash it will be $75 for just the outside. I spend about a hour and fifteen minutes to wash and dry.

toyotaguy liked post by JPostal On thread : Taking Over "volume" Business - Possible to Profit on $100 Dealer Jobs?
Thomas, I said some dealers will pay a fair price and I also said some dealers wont. In my local market there are a number of dealers that pay well above $100 for a pre-sale prep. You have...

toyotaguy liked post by Barry Theal On thread : Taking Over "volume" Business - Possible to Profit on $100 Dealer Jobs?
Yes it is profitable depending on your situation and how you run things. You need to not look at it per car, but by total numbers. For example. I do alot of dealer work. I take the good with the bad....

Great question, Johng. Right now, my focus has been on trying to offer the absolute best packages, services and customer interaction. I feel that by offering "the whole package", -that- will have...

If you're performing more than one polishing cycle on a section then it's not longer a 1-step IMO. Now I can see doing a second step with that same product/pad/tool to remove a few random defects...
