You're probably right. Some jambs can be of the same shade/color, but *maybe* not 3 stage? OTOH I have noticed some areas (jambs/inner panels) of some parts of some cars that the factory doesn't break up with 3 stage. Is the underside of your hood 3 staged/pearl?

The jambs I remember (Audi Pearl White) were pearlescent and cleared. Ditto for the painted sections of the doors.

*LOTS* of areas on these cars aren't cleared, areas like the inner fenders under the hood and in the wheelwells. But *IIRC* they still had the pearl layer. This is all from memory, been a while since we had a pearl white one around (the two we have in service are silver and I haven't gotten around to checking out the new Andora Red project car...I *think* it's a pearl but it's too abused for me to tell right now).

I'm also going by memory on the underside of the hood as both of ours were repainted (Audis live tough lives in my household ) and I made sure the undersides were as nice as the top-sides.

It's kinda weird what pieces are/aren't finished properly on these cars. With these things being painted by machines on automated lines, one could probably take a good guess as to which parts are done which way...given some thought about how they're put together.
