i just noticed the first silver one has the newer grill too, and IMO, that new grill looks WAY better than the old chrome one with dinky mazda badge. the newer grill seems to me to be more sporty.

and how about ZOOM x3?
btw, i guess you haven't found any mp3 proteges? i think they had a bunch of aftermarket stuff on them, like racing hart wheels, some exhaust, maybe even a strut tower brace and suspension. oh plus the kenwood mp3 player that looked nice but was hard to operate because of its tiny buttons. | You mean ZOOM x2? The slogan is "ZOOM ZOOM".
No I haven't found any MP3s for sale. I probably wouldn't be able to afford one anyway. If I had the money, I'd get a Mazdaspeed Protege, but of course I definitely don't have the money for one of those.
I could buy the factory parts for the MP3/Mazdaspeed Protege, but I found that those things are way more expensive than just getting a generic one off of Ebay. The strut tower brace for the Mazdaspeed Protege from a factory supplier was over $150, while the strut braces on Ebay cost anywhere from $10 - $50.

Granted it is the 2001 Protege MP3 Edition, but here's a blue one for ya: to that awesome color!

IMO it didn't look as good in person as that one does in the pic (especially didn't like how the front end looked). I still say "nice color, wrong for the car". Maybe the MP3 accessories make a big difference
Heh heh, OK, I'll shut up now, having *really* stated my opinion Just make sure *you* really like whatever car you get.

Was the front end styling as shown in the pics of the red car? Or the front end as shown in the pics of the black car?
I welcome any and all opinions. Forums are for discussion, that's what this thread is for.

I find it funny that I think it looks too boring in blue since *I'm* partial to debadged silver Audi sedans (what could be more boring than those ).
The blue one I saw had the same front end as the black one. As best I can tell, that's the same as the one on the MP3 edition in your pic.

from what i've read online....that color is only on mp3..laser blue mica to be exact and not offered on non mp3 proteges...i could be wrong, but i've read only 1000 blue mp3 mica were made making them rather rare
