I've used both (although the Sonus only once as it was borrowed from a friend) and both worked well. I could definitely tell a difference between using Sonus and Microrestore vs. liquid Tide. However, Tide works just fine for me as well.

I just prefer Microrestore because of the bottle (and it's cheaper / oz.)

Either one will work. I can't imagine a whole lot of difference in the formula. If anything , Sonus could be a private label version.

Don't bother with either (or at least Micro Restore - the one I own).

It doesn't perform as well as regular detergent.

The claims of removing stubborn stains and oily residues is not true.

The claims of "complete removal in the rinse cycle" is not true.

The claims of "effectively remove the heavy residue" when compared to regular detergent is not true.

The claims of working well in hard water is not true.

I have used the product according to the instructions. My towels do NOT come out cleaner or more plush when dry.

Using a clear, unscented, dye-free detergent, one scoop of OXY clean and a hot water wash, cold rinse, vinegar in rinse, and an extra rinse does a SUPERIOR job cleaning and maintaining plushness than the other product.

Case in point, I used original Moose Wax (not VM or CMW) on a handful of MF's for wheels, door jambs and for some tar removal. I used the "wonder cleaner" and half the MF's came out still stained and reaked like gasoline (the petrolleum distillate smell found in the MW).

The other half, I used Tide Free, Oxy Clean, vinegar. The stains were lighter (but not gone) and the smell of gasoline was near none.

So, I can do 8 - 16 loads or I can do dozens of loads for a fraction of the price with better results in *my* situation.

I have over a 100 MF's from a dozen places. I wash almost all of them the same way a zillion times drying them on low heat. Outside of the cheap Costco MF's, all remain plush perfect for paint.

I know we like all sorts of cool products, but I say save your money and wash the old fashioned way.

And YES, the OXY Clean does dissolve just fine in hot water and YES, you can wash your MF's in hot water.

Use only liquid detergent

The grandules may not dissolve and become "lodged" in the nap of the MF.

For a REAL kicker and money saver. All Free Clear is cheap as all hell! The large 300oz. jug can be had for about 11 bucks. Use hot water and dry cool and you're good as new.

I use liquid laundry detergent on the pads and let them soak in hot water for about a half hour before I rinse them in cold water....works great.

I spend enough money on unique detailing products. For washing MFs, just leave me with my liquid detergent and hot water (thanks to DFTowel for that advice).

Not that it matters but Micro-Restore is an http://www.autofiber.com/ product, not CMA.

But CMA also sells it. Imo, as long as your using vinegar in the rinse cycle, you should be fine. We all know that helps get rid of the excess soap and hard water from clogging the fibers.

As far as detergent goes, I either use tide or woolite(when i handwash, and for sheepskins).

Hot water, powder or liquid detergent.......(When was the last time you noticed detergent in your clothes???) If you elect to use powder, use slightly less than whats considered normal........
