Is it shampoo then water or water then shampoo?

I used to pour the shampoo first then water. I would get lots of suds, but then it was hard to determine how much water I had really added in the bucket.

Then I began to fill up the bucket with water then add shampoo. Much less suds, I miss the suds.

My recommendation is fill the bucket 3/4 full of fresh water, add your shampoo, then hit it with a final jet of water to activate suds.

What I do is put shampoo in the bucket first, and fill the bucket with no nozzle. When it's 80% or more full, I then lift the hose out of the water to splash and activate the suds. Kind of like DavidB's method, I guess.

What DavidB said

I've decided that generally, I'd rather have (liquid) wash solution than (airy) suds.

Heh heh, yeah, I know what you mean. It's sorta like *knowing* that sheeting has all those advantages over beading, but still wanting to see the beads, huh?

I put the soap in after the bucket is completely filled. I hate suds because it's so hard to see how dirty the water is getting. I swish the water carefully around to disolve the soap. However, after a couple of dunks and swishes and squeezes of the wash mitt, it's sudsy enough I can't see in it anymore (and this is with #00!)...
