All the excitement about the BBT

I've been seeing so many posts on the BBT that I am wanting to try one to see what the fuss is all about. I just have to find a way to get one to Canada. Maybe one of the JT International waffle weave towels will do.

Anyway, I just wanted to know if and why you prefer the BBT to plain large MF's, absorbers, cotton towels, etc.

wheels,

I just received my order of 5 large waffleweave towels from JT Int. They were 28"x54" and only $16.50 each and their quality seems to be on a par with the BBT's. I'll test them out this weekend to see if they work just as well.

I use both a CWB and a BBT to dry. The CWB removes a good amount of the standing water and the BBT does the rest. Never had a problem with the CWB - I love it. But with the BBT, it's the best combo I have ever used to dry.

I use a 100% cotton bath towel for the first major run around the car to get most of the water off. I then grab a MF towel and a smaller 100% cotton towel. Hit all the paint with the Mf towel to absorb the last few dots of water and use the 100% cotton towel for the windows to prevent waterspoting. Don't worry. I come back to the windows later with a window cleaner and a microfiber towel.

Wow! Looks like the BBT is an overwhelming favourite here. Sounds like I am going to have give it, or the JT waffle weave towels, a try.

Well, I use and love both the Absorber and CWB! Who needs towels or bulky leaf blowers....??

I use:

1) Sheet water off finish
2) Air compressor into crevices
3) CWB for other big stuff
4) Leaf blower for those pesky leftovers
5) A neatitems MF to get it good to the last drop.

hell, even my drying process is a 5-step program!! I really am in need of "Obsessive Compulsive Detailers Anonymous"

CWB followed by a Cannon cotton towel to dry and a cheapo Mf for dirty areas.

The Cannon's (have like 3 or 4) will be replaced by a BBT!

Just so you know, 2wheelsx2... www.premiumautocare.com (one of Autopia's sponsors) has a waffel weave MF towel that seems to me to be identical to the BBT in everything except size. I would compare it to be the size of one of the green Viper towels from CMA. It works just as well as the BBT does for its size. They ship to Canada too. That is why I mentioned them.

I love my BBT. At first I was sort of reluctant to give up my absorber but now I don't even use the absorber anymore. The BBT is a perfect drying tool. I use the CWB too and the BBT picks up whatever the CWB leaves behind. I use my Absorber for drying my engine now.

I just tried out my 28"x54" waffleweave towel from JT International today and I'm happy to report that it pretty much lived up to expectations. The towel dimensions mean that it has 10.5 square feet of drying area and I was able to easily finish a mid-sized sedan without the towels coming anywhere close to being saturated.

I use the Absorber, but only because I spent money on it. It works well, however it must be wrung out consistently. I then follow with regular MF towels and QD.
