Two jetski's

Did these for the customer whose F150 I just did. I am not crazy about the before and after pics at all. I didn't have my laptop when I took the "afters" so I couldn't remember what I had taken "before" pics of.......

So, while they may not match and the bulk of the pics don't really show that much of a difference...here ya go!!

Process:

Wash w/cirtrus degreaser
Polish:
SSR2.5 w/orange CCS
SSR1 w/white CCS
IPA wipedown
Topper
DG 601 PBA
DG 105 x 2
AW the day after
Seats were cleaned with APC and treated with 303 vinyl top protectant
Mirrors were cleaned with Driven to Perfection Extreme Duty Glass Cleaner to remove water spots. Then followed with IG.

Is DG 105 gonna hold up in the water?

(asking because when I restore my aluminum canoe, I need a good wax or sealant to prohibit/retard oxidation.) I was thinking of going with Collinite.

I have talked to a few people who have boats and they have used DG 105 with pretty good success. Are there waxes out there specifically for marine application? Yes. Would they probably last longer? Yes. Didn't have any so this is what I went with. I see her all the time (she is now, thankfully, playing on our co-ed softball team) so I will be able to keep an eye on the durabiblity and either re-wax with something else or keep piling on the 105!! LOL!!!

To answer the "gel coat" question.....yes I do believe that jetski's are like boats and have gel coats. Someone else can chime in if I am wrong....it happens all the time!!

Jet Skis have gelcoats, and #105 is great for lasting on the water. Ironicly, most marine waxes are carnauba based, so they dont last worth flip. I only use #105 on boats and my jetski.

Not so - Collinite is a renound carnuba developed for marine use that everyone seems to agree has amazing durability - so much it's use spilled over to automotive (especially for long, cold winters).
(I have DG 105 / DG AW on my ride - <I love DG> just unsure about durability in in the water, especially below the water line. Again, perhaps apples and oranges fiberglass vs. my aluminum canoe.)

I have to tackle four of these things in the next couple of weeks. I have no idea what in the heck I am getting into so thank you so much for posting this. The timing couldn't have been any better. By the way, I think they look fantastic.

One thing I didn't know about wave runners though. I got on one this week and had no idea how stinking fast these things have gotten. I was on a Sea Doo and this thing got up to seventy MPH. I could barely hang on the darn thing. I couldn't imagine flipping off the thing going seventy freaken MPH.

here is a old boaters secret to removing water stains....Use a 50/50 solution of white vinager and water. It will save you money.
