CMA Porter Cable Accessory Kit

I thought I seen a post that stated that CMA would replace the two Terry Bonnet's with two MF
Bonnet's for the difference in price.

Just got off the phone with CMA and the person stated that I would have to buy them separately
they would not substitute.

I know, they told me the samething. They told me the MF bonnets are on backorder also. My order was delayed 3 days and they shipped it without the terry bonnets. They terrys are supposed to be shipped friday, but that is somewhat up in the air.

I ended up getting both kinds of bonnets from CMA with my PC accessory kit. The terry bonnets work really well for applying liquid wax. I've never waxed a car so fast as I did using this method.

Short Cut,

I also have the pc with accessory kit but when applying liquid wax i used the white pad. Is this not the proper way to do it? Should I switch to the terry bonnet. I kinda thought the terry bonnet would be better for like a cleaner/wax? Would you use the dark gray pad for glazes or liquid wax?
Thanks, Bill

I just ordered and got the same story. I'm a little annoyed - when I asked for the substitution, the order taker/salesperson said that the kits are prepackaged and they couldn't do it. When I received CMA's "package", they shipped everything except for the wool pad and the white foam pads. So much for prepackaged!

I don't think I'd be as annoyed if they had said: "Sorry, but no substitutions" rather than making up a reason.

(I ordered just after the new year, received the first "package" about a week later (I'm on the westcoast), and the second package with the wool and the foam about a week later.)

I know what you mean about being annoyed. They act like its our fault they don't have enough inventory. They said they would substitute some MF for the terry one's but I would have to pay for them. I told them to forget that, I already paid $60 for a kit that probably costs $20 to make.

Did anyone else get one that was damaged in shipping?

I know - sounds crazy - but the screw end of the velcro backing pad actually made a tear in my gray polishing pad. I'm sure that after a wash or two, it'll be bound for the garbage.

Think I have to drop CMA a line..
