Good idea? Using lateral filing cabinets as garage storage

Hi guys,

I was thinking about using a bunch of 18" deep, 36" wide, and 53" high, 4 drawer lateral filing cabinets I have from closing my business down as garage storage.

What do you guys think?

thanks,
Rick

Sounds like a fine idea to me.

They work good. My dad uses one and he keeps some power tools in them. Circular saw fits well. They shold be deep enough to fit most detailig bottles up right too!

Sounds like it would work, I imagine drawers full of papers would weight a lot more than a drawer full of detailing supplies.

Put some of that no-slip material in the bottom and you'll be good to go. Lateral files are cheap when someone goes out of business or gets new furniture but WAY too expensive new....

Guys,

Thanks for all your thoughts on me using the lateral filing cabinets I have for garage storage.

I agree with Splattj that they are much too expensive to buy new -- but I am just using these lateral filing cabinets that I already have just laying around unused.

Rick
