New House Plans

Wanted to share with folks the plans for my new garage & house. Attached is my first floor layout, including a 5-6 car garage. I've gotten many great ideas from this forum of what to include. I'm undecided about what to do on the floors, but it will have a 4-post lift, H/C water, and plenty of recessed lights. Construction begins 4/1.

Great looking floor plan.
If all of the bed rooms are up stairs you might want to consider moving the laundry room up stairs, that way you don't have to lug your dirty clothes all over the house.

when i bought my first house i walked into the garage and looked upon the hallowed area. i told the agent who was trying to sell it that i would like to put in a bid for the houSe. she said, "Put in a bid?" don't you want to look at the house.

looks like you have the garage of my dreams.

CONGRATULATIONS!

Or have a laundry chute from the upstairs hallway so you don't have to lug the *washer and dryer* upstairs Just an idea and it's not like either is right/wrong. Guess I kinda prefer not having the noise up by the bedrooms and it seems we're not upstairs much during the day (easier to forget about the laundry if the laundry room is away from were we are ).

Ominous C5- Since you're building from scratch, be sure to put the proper drains, etc. in both garages. I wonder how tough it would be to put a bathroom in the "motor room" garage; I find it *really* handy to have a bath you can get to without coming into the house proper (when working outside, on the cars, etc.).

Hope you're having fun with the planning of your new home!

I too would go deeper for the "motor room". I would also widen the 2 car garage to at least 24'. Take it from me. Our house has a 20x20 garage. With my Tacoma and Sienna in it is tight. I cannot access one side of the tacoma and the one side of the Sienna against the wall is very tight. Two more feet would be nice, but 4 would be better.

Where abouts in Cincinnati are you building? I'm in the process of building in Maineville. I was looking through your pictures and I must say that you have a very impressive collection. I saw one of your pictures at the Beechmont Chevrolet Corvette show. Back in 2000 my Dad took Peoples Choice with his 67. Have you been to Milford Steak and Shake on Friday nights? If not I HIGHLY recomend it. Maybe I'll see you over there! Later. Ryan

But then he'd have to lug all his microfiber towels all over the house.

PC.

As requested, I posted the layout for the lower level and upstairs. Thanks for the suggestions.

On Edge: I'm building in Milford. I do come to the Friday Night cruise-in's quite regularly. I'll look out for you there!

I've also entered the Beechmont show a few times. In 2002, my '78 won first place in C3 category. In 2004, I won first in C5 for the Z06, and won 2nd and 3rd place in C3 category with my '78 and '82.

Ominous, its zsho (from ZO6vette.com) with the 2002 blk/blk ZO6 (in case you cant tell from the screen name, I ended up buying the GTO instead of the C4 that we talked about on the way home from McDormans). Havnt talked to you in a LONG time. Your house looks amazing! I'm glad we didnt lower my ZO6 last summer, maybe we can do it this summer and I can see the new house in person!
