Revisiting Ultgar's Website...

Altho we haven't heard from "Ultgar" for some time, he sure has been busy!

Ultimate Garage

I found his updated pictures to be simply amazing!

Yeah, thanks for the reminder and the link. Too bad Ultgar was flamed to the point of blowing us off

Looks pretty damn cool! Now I need to win the lottery. What chased him off the site?

I'm under the impression it was a comment that I made that pissed him off. I said something along the lines of his stuff being of exceptional quality but not "real world". Some how that must have got taken as a flame or some how he took offense. All I meant was the his setup was the top of the line and that some of us would like to see a "real world ultimate garage". Something the working man could afford , something usable to us backyard mechanics and detailers. I tried to PM him but got no response back. His updated site is extremely nice , I especially like the lanscaping stuff , that's my major 2005 project for my place outside remodel and landscaping.

I think it was more than what DetailBarn posted, I vaguely recall some pretty nasty comments that I found rather offensive. But yeah, it was generally stuff along the lines of Ultgar's stuff being too expensive, not "reasonable", etc. but it was expressed in a very unfriendly manner and I believe Ultgar finally just deleted the thread and split. I'm afraid he got a pretty non-representative view of Autopians

Not that I really understand that sort of criticism anyhow...some people spend a lot on some things; if they can afford it, more power to them and IMO there's nothing wrong with catering to those folks, even exclusively. I know builders, mechanics, [etc., you name it] who will only do high-caliber work.

Ultgar taps an interesting market. One that I get a taste of from time to time. It never fails to amaze me how many 'exotics' are tucked away in garages, and only see daylight on Sunday for an hour or two.

My shop is between two affluent communities, and the disposable income factor is just astounding...

Just an example, I have one client with a Chrysler minivan, Lexus SUV, Mercedes coupe, Aston Martin, Ferrari, Viper, corvette, and, oh yeah, a Learjet.

Agreed. I always thought I lived in a poor hick town, and now that I've come to learn about certain people, it's really not too bad. There are quite a few exotics barely anybody knows about....I just found out someone in my county has 18 cars, including 2 Ferraris and a Rolls Royce.

Heck you do live in hick town, I'm from Wisconsin to. I don't think they mean the junk yard

I'm just kidding Carl, you must be in prosperity heights

I'm still kidding Carl, actually it is very amazing what you see and find out people have when you start looking around. Heck there is a guy that live about 7 miles away that has a working half track from WWII. And no I haven't detailed it.

The guy is really not bad, when Movit was a great brand doing BBK's I went to his shop and he's a really down to earth guy. Yes he caters to the extremely affluent but he's totally a cool guy this was back in 2000.

Anyway he's got a nice setup. The area he's in is extremely well off and just by word of mouth everyone will go to him to try and top the next guy off in this area. Ferraris, Lambos, and Bentleys are an every day thing...
