Garage Size???

I'm going to be building another garage next spring to store 1 car, tractor & implements. What I'd like to do is do some detailing on the side. What are the minimum dimensions I would need to have a bay to wash and then detail a vehicle?

I'm thinking of building a 34' x 26' metal building that will store the items listed but would this leave me enough room to detail?

My shop is 25 x 40. Plenty of room for two cars; ok, 3 Miatas.

Your plan sounds quite small, doable perhaps, but quite small. That's three 11x26 bays... Three SUVS might fit, but can you open the doors and walkaround? Not even close.

I'd go 20' wider (you're right, it is not my money) for three 18' wide bays.

At least make the double duty wash/detail bay that wide, if not more.

Drain?

I have to keep the entire building size under 1000 sq ft because of recent legislation in PA that would require costly permits and inspections for anything over the amount.

Would it be better to have the width or depth?
