Best color/paint for garage?
I'm getting ready to paint the inside of my garage and apply some floor covering (thinking the stuff at Home Depot with the colored chips). Just windering if it is beteer to use a Flat sheen as opposed to a gloss. I know gloss is easier to wipe down /clean so that is where I'm leaning (semi-gloss).
Just wondering if there are any tips /suggestions before I start.
Thanks,
Blue

Personally I think anything glossier than eggshell would look a little odd in a garage. Paint with gloss is OK for bathrooms but that's about it. Glossy floors are great and the epoxy coating will leave a nice finish.

The more glossy it is the better the lights will reflect off the walls and the easier the walls will be to clean if something spills and splashes on them. As for the floor I would use U-coat it http://www.ucoatit.com/

Is it preferred to have a glossy floor?

I like glossy better, but it also can be slick when wet. If you are planing getting it wet watch out!

if you go for it make sure the floor is VERY VERY clean. When you get it painted you will really like it. Looks awsome. Like 2001civicex www.ucoatit.com is the best but it is expensive. I think the stuff at Home Depot or Menards will work well too but they are not usually solvent based and may not work as well or last as long.

In the past I have painted garage floors using a two-part epoxy paint from Sherwin-Williams, (no affiliation), and no one complained after a year of homeowner use. It should be noted, these were clients who took no care to worry about the floor, and in this climate, road salt dominates in the winter...and no peeling.
...just a point to ponder....
