Good source for low profile jack?

I need a good quality low profile jack. The saddle height can't be higher than 3.5 inches. Any ideas?

I know you are looking for a jack but have you tried driving onto 2X4's for a little bit of extra clearance under your car? You might save quite a bit of $. A friend of mine had a similar problem when he wanted to put his Iroc on jackstands for the winter.

These jacks have the highest quality/price ratio of any I've seen. It's hard to find any reasonably priced jacks that aren't made in China, and these come from Europe. Not as lightweight as the Harbor Freight model (which is made in China), but light years ahead in quality for just a little more money - much higher capacity (safety margin), also.

I completely agree with rhenriksen and germancarnut. Go with an AC Hydraulic jack. I picked up the DK20.

I think I bought mine from ATS (www.alltiresupply.com) which is in Houston, TX. Sounds like rhenriksen bought his from the same place since it's local to him.

Everyone who has used my garage has been impressed with the quality and safety of the jack.

Hank, you're right. The price alltiresupply.com gave me was about the same, when including sales tax vs. the shipping I'd have to pay ultimategarage.com, give or take $5. But alltiresupply.com sent the jack over to my house in the back of a beat-up Toyota - can't beat the convenience! - and I've got the lower hassle factor of dealing w. a local reseller if I have any problems with it.

The thing I *haven't* seen anywhere else is Steve's modified A/C jackstands. The alternate center post w. the flat rubber top? I bought those from him (ultimategarage.com) and am at least as happy w. those as my A/C jack. The steel U-shaped tops of most jackstands just aren't a good fit with modern cars' jacking points. Most jackstands are designed like all cars still have solid rear *and* front axles! I've had my 911 shift a bit on sears jackstands, it wasn't something I want to risk again.
