Whoooo hoo! New door openers!

Had a few hundred in Gift Certificates for sears and need a few new openers for a while now. I went today and picked out thease, they look good and have everything we wanted as options. I think I will start installing them in the morning

nope no pics of it up yet, I had to quit early and didnt have time to take pics... So far I love it! It is soooooo quite, way better than the 300 year old ones we have had all this time. I like the features of having the nice wall buttons and the and the outside keypad. Also the door now closes a lot tighter, I think I like that the most! I took my time and hid the wires really well, I will post pics some time, I still have some finish work to do. Over all I am happy
May take a while to get the other one up though, it is above the SS and I dont want move it out in the snow

Did you get a chain or belt drive motor? I have a Liftmaster Professional belt model and it is very very quiet and has a lifetime warranty on all parts and motor too!

Question What features should I look for in a Garage goor?

I'm having a custom house built. What features should I look for in my garage doors?
The garage will have one large door, 19 foot wide.

Jon718> I got the screw drive one.\\\

FredsZ3 > I know it is going to cost an arm and a leg but I would get the best door/doors I could. make sure you get one that is the most Insulated one you can. you loose a ton of heat/AC through the doors. Are you looking at metal or wood>?

Garage doors

I had not thought of metal or wood. I will talk to my general contractor and get his input. He works great with me(its my money). The house will have vynal siding, but I suppose that doesn't matter.
WHAT I was asking about is the door opener. Is there a brand that I should look for?

oh the opener.... I would make sure that the one you get has enough Horse Power to rase the door, If you are going to have a 19 footer you will need a lot of HP, atleast 3/4hp or more.. I got the sears one because it mached the garage good and was quiet also. I love the ones I got

Pics are up
New opener pics..
