Need Ideas...

Ok so I have a single car garage with limited space. It is used for detailing my vehicles mainly and like a warehouse for all of my crap. The dimensions are 21.5' x 13.5'. I want to set up some lighting for it but don't want to go over board. Here is what she looks like now.

Front of garage

back of garage.

Basically all I have now is that single bulb in the middle of the garage and in the past I just moved around the 500W halogen that is currently hanging from the ceiling.

Here is what I was thinking.

I was thinking about using either 8' or 4' sections with 2 bulbs in them but I just want to make sure there aren't any shadows cast onto the vehicle. Let me know what you guys think.

Thanks

That should work. I would go with 4' fixtures just because they are cheaper and the bulbs are cheaper and easier to transport when you have to go buy some.

Do you have attic space you can just tap into the electrical for the other light?

Re: Need Ideas...

I have only 3, 4-bulb 48" fixtures for a larger space than you do (18x22), and I have plenty of light. They are however, T-5 H.O. fixtures.

I'd also recommend painting your ceiling white as it will make a difference!

Whatever fixtures you get, be sure to get bulbs that are 5000K...this is a very natural color temperature close to daylight.

Re: Need Ideas...

Thanks. I think I am going to go with 3, 2-bulb fixtures.

Yea I need to get up there and see what is going on up there.

Some new insulation might be in need as well.

Re: Need Ideas...

Ok. As you you can see there are shelve on the right side of the garage if you are looking to the back. I am thinking I should kick the fixtures over towards to the left side to account for the wasted foot of ceiling space.

What do you guys think?
