Or is the wrench specific to this machine and a replacement would have to be ordered from Makita? | |

I only use hook and loop. I think I know which wrench you're talking about now, and any makita retailer should have them. | |

there is a built-in spindal lock just press it and turn the plate

I went to try and change my backing plate on my 9227 and the plate does not COME OFF. yes i pushed down the button and turned the plate but it WILL NOT move whatsoever. can I just get a open wrench and grind it down and turn it or is the only way to loosen the pad is with the button?

I don't see how that would help you there is nothing to put the wrench on!
so you push the button and pull on the BP and nothing happens? wow hope someone can help you | |

what?
the spindle is a male thread(opposite of the PC)
so if you put a wrench on it all it will do is hold the spindle
if your spindle lock(botton) is working the wrench will be of no help | |
