Re: Question for PC users that switched to Rotary?

Yeah, I only put it on hand tight, but it ends up being very difficult to remove. I think it's cause it gets hot then cools down. My new 3403 sends alot of heat down the spindle. It gets too hot to touch, actually.

Ahhh.

Well that makes it difficult to switch pads if the adapter is scorching hot.

How's the 3403 otherwise?

I love it. So glad I got it instead of the 9227, especially when I'm doing vertical panels. It's so light.

Yeah, I've burned my thumb a few times on that adaptor when switching pads.

Nice. I've got a Metabo so I'm not sure that having a 3403 would be anything but another sweet buffer in the arsenal.

Did you get yours from Phil?

I got it from Ranney. I wasn't aware of Phil's sale on them until I'd already ordered it from Pak Shak.

Well it's a tossup anyway with the polishing pad included.

GO to Edge and buy them dhttp://www.edgepads.com/

The Edge 2000 Wave 6 inch Foam Pads are double-sided buffing and polishing pads for dual action or rotary car polishers and buffers. Single wave.
The Edge 2000 6 Inch DA Pads: The Edge 2000 6 Inch DuraFoam Pads will change the way you think about buffing pads. Single flat.

Yep, got it off. The WD 40 may have helped *a little*, but I really had to yank on that SOB hard before I got it off.

Like I said, it was the original backing plate, and the Makita looks like it has been fairly well used, so it was stuck pretty good.
