Holograms....where did i go wrong??

Did a 2007 Black Honda CRV last week.Since the paint has only light swirls I decided to hit it with Menzerna IP with LC White Pad on rotary : 1pass at 600rpm followed by 8 passes on 1200rpm and finally 2passes at 600rpm. With spritz of water every so often to prevent the pad from running dry. Then it's Menzerna PO106FF on LC Blue Pad: 1 pass at 600rpm then bump it up to 1000rpm doing 5 passes and finally 2pass at 600rpm. Again a spritz of water in between to prevent the Blue pad from running dry though Menzerna has a longer working time with their 106FF. For LSP i proceeded with JW PrimeStrong hand application with an applicator pad. Wait 10-15mins b4 wipe down with a slightly damp MF. Finally another wipe down with AJT with a new MF towel.
The Black flakes was popping under the sun but there were medium holograms on several panels of the Honda. Yikes!! Thought Menz. 106FF was suppose to finish down hologram free. So where did I go wrong??
I was moving my Rotary at 3" - 4" per sec at about 2lbs-3lbs pressure. Should I go slower when applying the 106FF??
Though the owner didn 't quite notice it (holograms) I offered to redo her car for free the next time she comes in for a reseal.

I just wanna ask why soo many passes? I mean 8 passes? You said it has light swirls.

Probably with the water. I never use water as an additional lube unless it's in the compounding stage. 106ff will do fine on it's own. It also could have been in the amount of product used, how fast your hand movements were as well. *I* also don't subscribe to the various speeds while using the rotary or buffing at 600 RPM. It's just too slow to work the product. I usually run the CCS green(AG) somewhere from 1100 to 1500 depending on the surface.

Normally I would do more than a few passes in my polishing stage as I found out by doing anything less than 8 the polishes would not have broken down and my probems not corrected.
Spoiledman..maybe i did use a tad bit too much 10FF..hehe. I was moving at 4" per second..is that slow or way too fast? My initial 600rpm was to spread the product and my final 600rpm was to "slow" and "smooth" the polishing down. But as I go slow so would be my hand movements..probably at 2" per second.

Yeah, that's too fast. Slow down, make fewer passes(slowing down will mean you wont need to make as many) and use a bit less product. It really doesn't take much.

so u reckon my holograms was contributed by the excessive speed and too many passes with the 106FF ?? BY the way U said slow down...to what rate? 1" per second?

How would you finish down hologram free with 106FF? Also how many passes would you personally do?

2" per second should do it. You may have to adjust a bit for how much product you use. Keep your hand speed down as well as the amount of product. The blue pad may be an issue as well. White or green(AG) may be a better option. I stick pretty much to the green.

But my Lake Country's Blue pad is the softest there is. Which I thought I should use to prevent Holograms, no? Or do u suggest I should use Lake Country's White instead with my 106FF as I don't have White or Green (AG).

The softest pad isn't always the best pad. The pad still has to be firm enough to break down the polish. I can finish the softest paint with CCS green(AG).

Man I wish the green was standard across the board. I just picked up 3 of the non AG green CCS pads and don't like them AT ALL.
