Join Date: May 2006 Location: Logan Utah Posts: 752 | Metabo Pe 12-175 I have a chance to get a Metabo for a great price, I know they are expensive so many don't have them for that reason. I have the following questions: - Will it take a standard backing plate of 6,5,7"?
- Can you use the EDGE 2000 spindle with it?
- If price were no option does this model have all the benefits of the other rotaries?
- Any con's to it if price were no option?
- I read about the overheating issue, but that seems to be a cord issue, which is a reminder to us all to use heavy gauge cord.
Anything else you want to add?

No, the speed isn't as high, nor does it have a variable speed trigger.
I would like a more accessible speed dial that would allow me to change speeds on the fly.
Overheating seems to be an issue for those who run the machine at low speeds, however I've solely used mine at 1,2 & 3 and have never run into this issue.

What do you mean by accessible speed dial, is it just hard to adjust when the machine is going?
