UDM or PC

Which one would be the best buy for someone who has never used on of these machines before?

Re: UDM or PC

UDM all the way. Its the PC on steroids and you WILL need that extra power. You will be fine, there are a few bugs with the machine but you just have to adjust your behavior on the power switch.

Ive used the UDM for almost a week straight now, if you have questions feel free to PM me more AIM me.

Re: UDM or PC

I went with the PC just a few days ago. Picked one ou from an on-line retailer for $99.

To many issues that don;t have a resolution date for me to justofy my emotional desire for the UDM vs my pocket book telling me to go with the machine I don't see so many issues with.

I will say that I am confident DavidB will work these issues out and once that is done, the UDM will be THE MACHINE TO GET... but for now there's just to much going on for me to get one

The switch is a PITA but its not a reason not to buy it. There are two members here that are going out of their way to be d!cks about it.

Re: UDM or PC

I would say get the UDM. The switch does suck, but it's not as bad as a few members are making it sound. The UDM seems to run more smoothly (less vibration, noise and seems to glide across the paint easier) that the PC.

Re: UDM or PC

switch did not bother me really because it is the first machine I have ever used. I did not find it to easy to turn on. I really got used to also after an hour or so.
And a little polish in the face and over the clothes made me feel more man like when seeing the little lady afterwords. I got the oh man you must of been really working out there. She is calling the garage the man house with all the toys I have bought.

Wouldn't get the same reaction working on a customers car, especially if it ws the 1st time for this cust..... might loose some credibility or trust

Lose credibility for having some polish on you? Highly doubtful and if a client thinks that of me he can leave, I dont need their business. Do you want the person that does your oil change to do it in a suit and tie and come up spotless, I wouldnt!

Re: UDM or PC

Having some polish on you should not make you lose business. Looking like a clumsy fool will. If that doesn't do it having situation like wrench flung on the car while changing backing plate damaging paint and windshield will almost guarantee it.
